The Pewter Jefferson cup is a reproduction of a set of silver cups designed by Thomas Jefferson in 1810 when Jefferson commissioned a Virginia silversmith, John Letelier, to craft eight smaller tumbler-style cups from two silver cups he inherited from his friend and teacher, George Wythe. The cups are significant because they were a favorite of Jefferson's family and were used at Monticello until his death in 1826. Jefferson Cups are often used today as decorative items, awards, or keepsakes, symbolizing hospitality, and American history!
